With over 30 hours of video content, it would be easy for the series to become boring, but I can switch camera angles, add transitions, annotations, and other elements which keep it fresh and interesting.
I'm very happy with my results - my videos look professional and well put together. They still put a lot of effort into improving the product. Since I had been using Camtasia for other work projects for several years, and I've seen improvements in each upgrade.
I did have to upgrade my hardware so it could keep up (including an SSD drive) but the software did amazingly well. My timeline generally started with 3 video feeds (3 angles on my work table), a separate audio feed, and Powerpoint slides, then I'd layer in special effects, annotations, and other items. I had used Camtasia casually for 7-8 years, for fairly small projects, so this was a big step up in my requirements. Overall: I just finished an intensive 6-months project using Camtasia for editing a 30+ hour educational videos series for artists. But Camtasia in itself is a basic video editing software that you can pick up and use pretty easy, get your team started and make great videos. And then from there, maybe if it doesn't do enough, you can graduate to some of the more complex video editing softwares like Adobe Premiere Pro, those kinds of things. Now, it does take a little bit more advanced training in order for you to get there, to use some of those features, but it does have that embedded.īut if you're looking for something basic that your team can learn, that you can learn that you know nothing about video editing, Camtasia is a great place to start. You can add quizzes and different types of training courses into your actual video, which is pretty cool. But the reason why I like Camtasia, it actually integrates a lot of the training elements if you're in the training side of your business. So I would definitely recommend Camtasia if you are looking to do any type of videos for your company, whether it be for culture training. So we were pretty much up and running within a week's time. They also had help videos that you could do. And then from there, there were a couple training videos that you could watch on YouTube. It was really just as simple as downloading the software to your computer and getting as many licenses as you needed. So it was definitely really easy to start using and implement Camtasia. So it was just really a cool software to use, very easy and easy to learn, but it had everything that we needed to make a great video. And as I said, every year they would come out with a new version, an updated version, which if you already had the older version, you would pay just a minimal fee to upgrade to the new software. And from there, they were able to put in videos from raw video files that we've shot for training videos, culture videos, those kinds of things. I was able to teach a couple of my team members that have never used any type of video editing software in about a week's time. So I think one of the primary reasons why we chose Camtasia was, it was cost-effective and it was minimal training that you had to do in order to use it. And it allowed me also to implement different learning activities, which included quizzes, different things that you can click on the video, which I'm pretty sure you can do on Adobe Premiere Pro, but Camtasia just gave us the ability to learn a basic video editing software with minimal training. It's a very basic editing software for video. It was easy for myself to pick up, really start using from the very beginning. And I think the reason why we switched was, Camtasia was a lot easier for our whole entire team to use.
We used Adobe Premiere Pro before we started using Camtasia. And for more reviews like this, click below. Glenn: Hi, my name is Glenn and I am a talent development manager, and I rate Camtasia a four stars out of five.
